The ultimate goal of a successful martial artist’s defensive strategy is to internalize their skills in such a way that those skills become instinctive. With experience, this internalization will become reactive without any hesitation or indecision should you need to physically defend yourself.
Applied Kickboxing participants develop an acute ability to process the situation and react effectively and responsibly. Through partner sparring, students will develop quick reaction skills and defensive strategies that work!
Sparring is not fighting. Sparring is working with a compliant partner in a controlled environment in order to test your skills. To us, the most important part is safety. The goal of Applied Kickboxing is self-protection. As responsible martial artists, we are not looking for trouble. But if trouble finds us, we will be prepared to protect ourselves.
Just like Football players wear helmets and safety pads, high quality protective gear is worn by all participants to ensure everyone‘s safety.
The goal of this program is to have cooperative and controlled application of technique with all participating members so, in the end, your confidence increases while your skills are tested in a safe and controlled environment.
One must be a current member of our Konsei Kickboxing Program to participate in Applied Kickboxing.
